Arizona School Administrators, Inc. (ASA) is a non-profit corporation organized to promote the best interests of education for the State of Arizona. ASA works to advance the roles of administrative leaders by providing training and support services for its membership.
This new 5,500 SF building provides for administrative offices, a training room with technological capabilities of digital presentation, conference room, break room and related support spaces. Split-face concrete masonry units with soldier course accents and painted stucco system are featured on the exterior, as well as an aluminum storefront system with custom color, painted metal finishes, steel canopies and standing seam metal roof.
The lot size was very small and split by an existing alley requiring an alley abandonment. In addition, the property was zoned residential which required a long lengthy rezoning process to change it to C-O Office zoning classification. A zoning variance also had to be processed to allow a driveway entrance on to Washington, a residential street. Further, the site is in a flood plain and required the building design to be above the 500-year flood plain level and FEMA approval.
